Work in progress -The future does not exist

Performed at Malmö Theatre Academy December 2019
Work-in-progress showing at Inkonst November 2019

Iphigenia said my death is happy. I am the savior of the world.

Donna said stay with the trouble of living and dying together on a damaged earth.

Sigrid said I'm thinking that it won’t be possible to live in Malmö in about 50 years and then maybe it is like this that ok and then you have nothing to lose you know

The process consisted of different work-in-progresses sheared with audiences in October, November and December 2019. During the process the work has varied in materials. In different times consisting of dramatic and documentary text, dance, video installations, concrete sculptures, sound and light.

Materials that has feed into the process has been text from a climate activist, text from Medea, Iphigenia, Nora (Ibsen) and Donna Haraway, jellyfish, water and concrete. The guiding idea in the process has been staying with the trouble, building and deconstructing and building again.

The work reflects on violence and the relations between humans, other creatures and materials such as concrete and water. Our world is in crisis. War does not exist without peace. What should we do? What will we do? What are we doing?

VIOLENCE AND NATURE is Theodor Ryans investigation in sustainable working methods as an artist and how to relate to the world ending. Consisting of the performances NORA/MEDEA/SIGRID and The future does not exist.
